John Daly arrested at Hooters after a night of drinking

October 30, 2008

John Daly was arrested at a Hooters in Winstem Salem, NC. After he was arrested he was held in a 24 hour detox center. The restaurant actualy called the paramedics for help. Daly has reportedly gone through alcohol rehab 3 times already.

Daly with his antics continues to be a favorite on the tour with the fans atleast. He continues to play on the tour. If this was an NFL team or NBA team he would be suspended indefinitely. I guess you are an independant contractor in the PGA. What you do outside of the golf course doesnt matter, it only affects you and not the team. I hope he sobers up.

British Open 2008 Odds and preview

July 14, 2008

Bodog has released their odds for the British Open 2008. The 137th Open Championship will be played at Royal Birkdale Southport, Lancashire, England from July 17th to July 20th. With Tiger Woods out, who is the favorite. Bodog has Sergio Garcia at 8/1. There is always high hopes for Sergio Garcia, but he never seems to pull it out. I like Lee Westwood (16/1). Currently ranked 19th in the World. Padraig Harrington (16/1) is the defending champion. Phil Mickelson (16/1) is also in the mix once again. Again out of Tiger Woods shadow Mickelson has a chance. In 15 tries however, Mickelson has only one top 10 result. Pretty good huh ? Adam Scott is the 4th ranked player in the World. He is 22/1. Again without Tiger Woods, it is anyone’s tournament to take. With that in mind the rest of the Field not listed is 10/1. Which is always a good bet.

Here are the rest of the odds from Bodog.

Sergio Garcia 8/1
Ernie Els 12/1

Tiger Woods uncertain of return

July 1, 2008

Tiger Woods spoke for the first time since his surgery and winning the US Open.

“I really don’t know,” Woods said during a conference call to promote his AT&T National, a tournament near Washington, D.C., that he hosts but will be unable to attend. “We’ll have to see how this thing heals and everyone heals at a different rate. Some six months, some at nine and some at 12. To be honest with you, no one really knows until we start the rehab process and see how this thing goes.”

He barely practiced at the US Open and winced in pain throughout, yet he was able to get the victory.

Woods expressed regret at having to miss the British Open and PGA Championship “at venues that I liked. To not be able to go is frustrating.”

My question is who will be the favorites for the next majors ? Who will be the favorite for the British Open and PGA Championships. I wont be able to bet Tiger against the field anymore. It was almost a lock with Tiger at the majors.

Tiger takes the US Open

Did anyone else’s TV go out on Tiger Wood’s putt on the 18th hole ? That was an incredible tournament. If you had Tiger to win you would have cashed in. The money line isnt that great and the odds arent that great. He playing against a group of people not an individual team. It is unbelievable how he just pulls it off. Rocco Mediate couldnt put it away in that sudden death hole. Looks like Tiger is going to take another rest. He might not even play in his own tournament the ATT Classic. Less chances for you to cash in, but there are plenty of other bets out there.

Tiger takes US Open into Playoffs

June 15, 2008

Did you see Tiger on the 18th hole ? Unbelieveable !! What kind a say…. after double bogeying the first hole the lead changed back and forth all day. On the final whole, Tiger Woods trailed Rocco Mediate by 1 shot. Tiger needed a birdie to tie and put the US Open into a playoff. His first shot went into the bunker. Tiger’s third shot, after laying up, landed about 10 to 15 ft from the hole. Lee Westwood on the other hand was in the same situation, trailing Rocco Mediate by one stroke. Westwood had a more difficult putt. Westwood was unable to make the birdie putt. However, Tiger put the ball in the bottom of the cup. It was amazon, almost as amazing as Turkey’s come back today in the UEFA Euro 2008.

The US Open playoff is set to start tomorrow at 12PM EST.

Early odds:
Tiger Woods -360
Rocco Mediate +235

Tiger is back. Sore knee ? I dont think so. Its good to see the Tiger fist pump again. Did you see the 30ft putt for his second eagle of the day ? All eyes will be on Tiger tomorrow. NBC will have a rating bonanza. Woods took a 1 stroke lead over Lee Westwood. The odds on Tiger was +150, not very good odds, considering he is competing against 100+ golfers.

Phil Mickelson had a “tin cup” moment. He had lob wedge shots from 80 yards away that he saw come back to his feet. It was incredible.

Tomorrow should be an exciting for Tiger Woods.

Tiger Shoots 68 at US Open, 1 behind Appleby

June 13, 2008

Tiger Woods game out with a soar knee and shot a 68 at the US Open. He is tied for 2nd place with two others and 1 off the leader, Stuart Appleby. Tiger shot 30 on the front 9 at Torrey Pines. Phil Mickelson on the other hand in his hometown was 4-over. I think this is Tiger’s show once again.

US Open Starts Thursday

The US Open Starts Thursday in San Diego. Tiger Woods has claimed this to be one of the toughest courses. One of my favorite things to watch is Tiger Woods against the field. There is always a dark horse coming from out of no where to shock the world. That person will try to hang with Tiger on Sunday. However this year might be different. Tiger is coming off an injury and hasnt played been in a real tournament in a while. The second favorite is Phil Mickelson. He has never won a US Open, will this be his year. Dont think so. No american has won in 5 years by the way. Are we due ?

Here is the top 10 on the money line from SBG Global .

1 T Woods NA NA +150
2 P Mickelson NA NA +750
3 J Furyk NA NA +2000
4 E Els NA NA +2500
5 P Harrington NA NA +2000
6 V Singh NA NA +2500
7 A Scott NA NA +2500
8 R Goosen NA NA +2500
9 S Garcia NA NA +2000
10 J Rose NA NA +3500

This is a tough bet, bet $100 to win the money line. The field money line is set to $1200. I dont see Justin Leonard on there but I expect him to come off a high of his win last week at St. Jude. Angel Cabrera came out of no where last year he is at +5500, i doubt he will repeat. Jim Furyk might be your a good bet at #3 on the money line at +2000. Stay away from Sergio Garcia, his putting might not hold up on this course. I expect a foreigner again to take the US Open. Furyk is the best American hopeful.

This looks like an excellent site for your analysis.
