Moments and analysis from Tiger Woods’ first round at the Masters

Tiger Woods is back in action at his 26th Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club.

Despite having withdrawn from the Genesis Invitational due to illness, Woods says he’s confident he can win at Augusta National Golf Club if “everything comes together.” Five years ago, that’s exactly what happened for him, as he carded a 13-under to win his fifth Masters — and first major win in 11 years.

One thing’s for certain: Although he’s far removed from the days where he’d be the favorite to win it all, Woods makes any major he competes in more exciting as he looks to come one step closer to Jack Nicklaus’ record 18 major wins.

Here’s how Woods fared on and off the fairway at the Masters.
