England make two changes in 6N Wales clash

Rugby

England have made two changes for their trip to Wales on Saturday in the Six Nations with uncapped George Martin named among the replacements.

Jamie George and Mark Wilson return to England’s starting XV for the match in Cardiff, while Martin could make his England debut if given the chance from the bench.

George starts ahead of Luke Cowan-Dickie while Wilson replaces Courtney Lawes at blindside. Lawes drops out of the matchday squad.

Head coach Eddie Jones has again opted for a six-two split on the bench while George Ford and Owen Farrell link up at 10 and 12 respectively.

Elliot Daly will win his 50th cap, starting at fullback.

England head to Cardiff looking to end Welsh hopes of a Grand Slam, after they opened their championship with wins over Ireland and Scotland.

England are one from two in the Six Nations, having lost their opener against Scotland and then eased past Italy a fortnight ago.

“Wales is a really special fixture and rivalry,” Eddie Jones said. “There is a long history between the two nations and the game means a lot to both countries.

“We know we’ll be up against a strong Welsh challenge on Saturday, but we’ve worked really hard in training this week and have got a very good team to face it.

“We want to show people what we are capable of, keep building our performances and the best is yet to come from this England team.”
