Sources: Pederson, Rangers agree to 2-year deal

MLB

Outfielder Joc Pederson and the Texas Rangers are in agreement on a contract pending a physical, sources tell ESPN.

News of the deal was first reported by The Athletic.

Last a designated hitter with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Pederson, 32, declined his mutual option for the 2025 season.

He hit .275 with 23 home runs and 64 RBIs in 2024, his first season with the Diamondbacks after signing a one-year, $9.5 million dollar contract last offseason. The option for 2025 would have paid $14 million.

Pederson has 209 career home runs, playing for the Dodgers, Cubs, Braves, Giants and Diamondbacks. He was an All-Star with the Dodgers in 2015 and the Giants in 2022. He won World Series titles with Los Angeles in 2020 and Atlanta in 2021.
