Sources: Fins giving Waddle $84.75M extension

NFL

The Miami Dolphins and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle have reached an agreement on a three-year, $84.75 million contract extension that includes $76 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday.

Waddle’s new deal, which runs through the 2028 season, makes him one of the NFL’s top five highest-paid wide receivers. The $76 million guaranteed is the third-highest amount for a wide receiver in NFL history behind A.J. Brown‘s $84 million and Amon-Ra St. Brown‘s $77 million, two other deals reached this offseason.

Waddle, 25, set a Dolphins franchise record with his third consecutive 1,000-yard receiving season in 2023. The 2021 first-round pick holds the Dolphins record for most receiving yards in the first three years of his career, totaling 3,385 yards with 18 touchdowns on 251 receptions over 47 games.

He also holds Dolphins rookie records for receptions (104) and receiving yards (1,015).

The contract extension was negotiated by Waddle’s representation at WME Football.
