Miami’s leading rusher Parrish Jr. enters portal

Miami running back Henry Parrish Jr. entered his name in the transfer portal Tuesday.

Parrish was the team’s leading rusher in 2023, with 625 yards and six touchdowns. He also led the team in rushing yards in 2022, with 616 yards and four touchdowns.

He has been expected to enter the portal, but Tuesday was the first day that players were able to enter their name in the spring transfer window. With his name officially in the transfer portal, he is the second Hurricanes running back to transfer out this offseason, as Donald Chaney Jr. left for Louisville in December.

Parrish originally transferred to Miami from Ole Miss after the 2021 season, and he could reunite with the Rebels after the team saw leading rusher Quinshon Judkins transfer to Ohio State.

Miami is also expected to see backup quarterback Jacurri Brown enter the transfer portal, although Brown has not officially entered his name in the portal yet. Brown is a redshirt sophomore who has thrown 76 passes for 411 yards, 4 touchdowns and 4 interceptions for the Hurricanes over the past two seasons.
