There has been a lot of speculation surrounding MS Dhoni‘s future in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and ahead of the new season starting March 22, experts and fans are interested in knowing whether this will be the former India skipper’s final season. Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Deepak Chahar weighed in on the conversation and said that he thinks the veteran wicket-keeper batter can play for two more years. Chahar also added that Dhoni’s performance at the nets show how fit he is at the moment.

“In T20s you retire when you feel 140kmph is extremely fast. Last year, you see how MS Dhoni hit sixes against 145kmph and we see that in the nets as well,” he said on Aakash Chopra‘s YouTube channel.

“He will play this year. I think he will decide after this season. I personally think he can play for two years.”

Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni landed here on Tuesday ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League season.

The defending champions posted a picture of Dhoni, who led them to their fifth title last season, exiting a vehicle on social media, captioning it “#THA7A Dharisanam!”

Speculation is rife that this season will be Dhoni’s final one as a player. Last year, the 42-year-old mostly came out to bat towards the fag end of CSK innings. CSK began their pre-season training camp on Saturday with the first batch of CSK players landing here a day before.

The players who have arrived so far include Deepak Chahar, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Simarjeet Singh, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Mukesh Choudhary, Prashant Solanki, Ajay Mandal, Shaik Rasheed and Nishant Sindhu (all-rounder).
