Chris Eubank Jr. said on Tuesday he has triggered a rematch clause with Liam Smith following their clash last month.

Smith stopped Eubank with a fourth-round knockout on Jan. 21 at the Manchester Arena, England. It was Eubank’s third defeat of his career and his first via stoppage.

“This morning I activated the rematch clause via my lawyers & sent to my promoters @Wasserman Happy Valentines Day @LiamBeefySmith,” the 33-year-old said in a social media post on Tuesday.

Smith replied to the tweet with a picture of Eubank on the canvas, saying: “Happy Valentine’s Day. See you soon.”

Eubank’s promoters, Wasserman, tweeted: “@ChrisEubankJr @Wasserman @LiamBeefySmith Let’s go!!”

After the initial fight, Eubank said: “If the fans want to see a rematch, we can get it on at Anfield.”

Following Eubank’s defeat, Wasserman said the team were “looking at” appealing the result against Smith for allegedly making contact with an elbow in the decisive round.

Eubank and Smith met in January after an initial bout between Eubank and Conor Benn was called off after Benn tested positive for the performance-enhancing drug clomifene.
