Australia vs New Zealand, 1st ODI, Highlights: Cameron Green scored unbeaten 89 and Alex Carey hit 85 runs as Australia defeated New Zealand by two wickets in the first ODI at Cazaly’s Stadium, Cairns on Tuesday. Chasing 233 runs vs New Zealand, Australia were 44 for 5 at one stage in the game when Carey and Green stitched a 158-run stand for the sixth wicket. Australia did lose the next three wickets in quick succession but Green’s knock kept them in the hunt and eventually helped them seal the game. Trent Boult was the best bowler for New Zealand with figures of 4 for 40 in 10 overs. Earlier, Devon Conway top-scored with a knock of 46 as New Zealand posted 232 for 9 against Australia. Glenn Maxwell returned with four wickets while Josh Hazlewood took three. Australia skipper Aaron Finch had won the toss and opted to bowl first in the game. (SCORECARD)
