Clips’ George (elbow) ruled out against Celtics

NBA

LA Clippers star swingman Paul George was ruled out before Wednesday night’s game against the Boston Celtics with a right elbow contusion.

George was originally listed as questionable and went through pre-game warmups before he was ruled out.

Veteran forward Nicolas Batum returned after missing nine straight games and replaced George in the starting lineup. Batum was in health and safety protocols before ramping back up with his conditioning to play again.

With Kawhi Leonard (knee) out indefinitely, George has led the Clippers with 25 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game this season. He had 21 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals in 39 minutes during a 102-90 win over the Blazers on Monday.
