Bucks win without Giannis, out with knee sprain

NBA

The Milwaukee Bucks will be without Giannis Antetokounmpo against the Indiana Pacers on Monday night, after the back-to-back league MVP was ruled out with a left knee sprain.

Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said he is “hopeful” Antetokounmpo’s absence will be short.

“We’ll see how he does this next day or two,” Budenholzer said.

Antetokounmpo suffered the injury early in Milwaukee’s 120-113 win over San Antonio on Saturday. His status for the Bucks’ next game, against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday in Milwaukee, remains unknown.

“We’ll see how the next couple days go and we’ll just kind of make decisions that are best for him,” Budenholzer said. “And keeping him really healthy, but there’s no decisions regarding Wednesday as of now.”
