England’s preparations for the Six Nations have been hit by COVID-19 with Eddie Jones self-isolating after one of his coaches tested positive for the coronavirus.

Matt Proudfoot, England’s forwards coach, is asymptomatic but has retured a positive test.

In line with government guidelines, as Jones and attack coach Simon Amor were in close contact with Proudfoot, they must self-isolate for 10 days.

The news means England will be without their head coach for the first day of their pre-Six Nations training camp next week.

The squad is announced on Friday January 22, while the team meets Jan. 27 at St George’s Park. Jones, Amor and Proudfoot will then join the group on Jan. 28.
