TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ flight to Charlotte, North Carolina, was delayed more than five hours on the tarmac Saturday night, a team source told ESPN.

The delay was due to mechanical issues, the source said, and was not COVID-19 related.

The plane was supposed to take off at 2:25 p.m. ET and land at 3:55 p.m. ET, but had not taken off as of 7:30 p.m. ET.

The team has been on board the plane for the extent of the delay, the source said.

The Bucs are scheduled to play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

NFL Network first reported the team’s flight was delayed.
