Do you believe in the Redskins Rule?
November 3, 2008
The Redskins Rule is a term coined by Steve Hirdt of the Elias Sports Bureau. The Redskins Rules is:
If the Redskins win their last home game prior to Election Day, the party that won the popular vote in the previous election wins the White House; if the Redskins lose, the party that lost the popular vote in the previous election wins.
This has held true for the last 17 presidential elections. So if this rule holds true. if the Steelers win tonight Barack Obama will win, and if the Redskins win tonight, John McCain will take the election.
We shall see if this holds true !

2008 US Presidential Election Odds - 14 days until election night
October 21, 2008
We are 14 days from the 2008 US Presidential Elections. The latest poll averages from Real Clear Politics has Barack Obama +6.0 over John McCain.
Bodoglife.com has opened the odds and lines for the election. Here are today’s odds, 14 days before the election:
John McCain +425
Barack Obama -650
This is by far the largest gap in the lines, Barack Obama is the clear favorite at this point. Barack Obama announced today that he was taking a break from the campaign trail to spend time for his ailing grandmother. Im not saying he shouldnt but I dont think that will hurt him in the campaign. The wrath continues to question John McCain’s choice for Vice President.
Around October 6, 2008 the odds were removed from most Sportsbooks. On that date Barack Obama was still the favorite:
Barack Obama -400
John McCain +250
Prior to that on Oct 1 Barack Obama was still favored:
Barack Obama -290
John McCain +225
At this point if you wager $650 on Barack Obama and he wins you will receive around $100 for that wager (minus any commissions). If you place a $100 wager on John McCain you will win $250 (minus any commissions). These are odds accoring to Bodoglife.com. We have been tracking the odds for the US Presidential race for a while, you can read the history on this link.

2008 US Presidential Election Odds after October 7 debate
October 8, 2008
Well odds for the 2008 US Presidential Election between Barack Obama and John McCain have been removed from Sportsbook.com. Out of the three sportsbook that I monitor Sportsbook.com was the last to remove the odds. Betus.com and Bodoglife.com had their odds listed up until last week.
After yesterday’s debate, Barack Obama has dropped slightly from 6.0 to 5.3 in the RealClearPolitics.com poll averages.
Was there a winner last night ? Did John McCain do that well that he would gain .7 points on the poll averages. Here were the final odds on October 6, 2008.
Current Odds on SportsBook.com:
Barack Obama -400
John McCain +250
Last week Bodoglife.com had the following odds before the Vice Presidential debate:
Barack Obama -290
John McCain +225
You can wager on voter turn out though. Im not sure how they will measure this or what number they will use. The Over/Under on voter turn out is 60.5% (-115/+115). It would be a hard wager to make, this needs to be a clearer bet.

John McCain chooses Sarah Palin for VP
August 29, 2008
John McCain chooses Sarah Palin for his Vice President and running mate in the upcoming election. All my readers actually had it right also. Check out my poll below:
Sarah Palin was 7/1 in odds to be the Republican Vice Presidential nominee. If you had Sarah Palin, you would have cashed. The ticket is set for both parties. We await the start of the Republican convention in Minneapolis, MN. Palin is considered a surprise and is currently the “little known” Governor of Alaska. This seems to be a balance in age for John McCain, just like Barack Obama choosing an older Joe Biden. She has no foreign policy experience. Also considered a “Maverick” Republican she is maybe the compliment to John McCain. This is getting close and exciting folks. Check back for more.
