Do you believe in the Redskins Rule?

The Redskins Rule is a term coined by Steve Hirdt of the Elias Sports Bureau. The Redskins Rules is:
If the Redskins win their last home game prior to Election Day, the party that won the popular vote in the previous election wins the White House; if the Redskins lose, the party that lost the popular vote in the previous election wins.
This has held true for the last 17 presidential elections. So if this rule holds true. if the Steelers win tonight Barack Obama will win, and if the Redskins win tonight, John McCain will take the election.
We shall see if this holds true !

John Daly arrested at Hooters after a night of drinking

John Daly was arrested at a Hooters in Winstem Salem, NC. After he was arrested he was held in a 24 hour detox center. The restaurant actualy called the paramedics for help. Daly has reportedly gone through alcohol rehab 3 times already.
Daly with his antics continues to be a favorite on the tour with the fans atleast. He continues to play on the tour. If this was an NFL team or NBA team he would be suspended indefinitely. I guess you are an independant contractor in the PGA. What you do outside of the golf course doesnt matter, it only affects you and not the team. I hope he sobers up.

UFC 90 October 25 2008 Predictions Anderson Silva vs Patrick Cote Odds Lines Spreads

Well another PPV and another good payout to those who read my predictions. Last weekend I went 2-1 predicting the winners and the outcome to the Bisping and Lytle fight. The only fight I missed was Vera vs Jardin. Jardin came was a surprise to everyone with his new and improved ground game. This weekend’s UFC PPV has a stacked fight card. Fights featuring Sean Shrek, and Thiago Alves but main event is a title defense featuring the champion and best pound for pound fighter in MMA Anderson “The Spider” Silva vs Patrick “The Predator” Cote. “IT HAS BEGUN”
Sean “The Muscle Shark” Sherk (36-3-1) vs Tyson Griffin (12-1-0)
Sean Sherk is coming off a devastating lost to BJ Penn. Penn dominated Sherk in that last match and eventually losing by TKO. Sherk just looked awful and very slow, he did not look like his once dominating lightweight champ. He will be facing a younger fighter in Tyson Griffin. Tyson Griffen is coming out of the Xtreme Couture camp, he his not an explosive fighter. His last four wins lasted all three rounds winning by Unanimous decision. Tyson also has a key win in 2005 versus the California Kid Urijah Faber. This match is pretty much even, both fighters have great wrestling and striking skills. The only problem with Sherk is that he gets gased after the second round. In his fight versus BJ Penn is was looked exhausted in the second round. BJ Penn took advantage of his weakness and won in TKO. I see Griffin taking advantage of Sherk’s weakness and take him to the ground in the 2nd or 3rd rounds scoring major points.
Prediction: Tyson Griffin Unanimous Decision
Josh “Kos” Koscheck (13-2) vs Thiago “Pit Bull” Alves (21-4-0)
Josh Koscheck another TUF contestant is coming off a two fight win streak, beating Chris Lytle and Dustin Hazelett. But he is coming off a long string of noteworthy fights with George St. Pierre and Diego Sanchez both matches lasted all three rounds. Koscheck is taking on an explosive Thiago Alves. He is coming off huge win against Matt Hughes. Both fighters will start this fight trading kicks and punches. Both fighters are very explosive and exciting to watch. But the advantage will goto Alves, he is a more rounded fighter with excellent skills in jujitsu and kickboxing. Alves loves throwing kicks and elbows. Koscheck on the other hand has a fairly weak ground game and his strikes are mediocre. His kickboxing skills are not as diverse as Alves, as Koscheck only has punch combos and very little punch and kick combos. Thiago will dominate this fight taking it to the second round winning with a TKO kick to Koscheck’s head.
Prediction: Thiago Alves TKO Knees and Kicks
Anderson “The Spider” Silva (22-4) -650 vs Patrick “The Predator” Cote (14-4) +350
There is really not much to say about this fight. Anderson Silva is the best pound for pound fighter in MMA. But! Sound the upset alarm!! Im going to pick Patrick Cote to beat Anderson Silva. You guys may think Im crazy but Im not. Anderson Silva has been dominating the UFC in two weight classes. He has gone up and down classes just to beat up on fools. Anderson Silva will come in to this fight too cocky and underestimate the skills of Patrick Cote. Anderson will eventually get caught and catch a knee to the face. Patrick Cote has excellent strikes his fights between Kendall Grove and Drew McFedries were all won by TKO punches. This will be the second time I will be rooting for the underdog. But hey what do I know, but I did predict that Rashad Evans will beat Chuck Liddell and I also predicted that Forest Griffin. Just remember Rocky beat Ivan Drago in Russia in 1985.
Prediction: Patrick Cote 3rd round TKO Punches - Cote is paying +350 from Betus.com that will pay divends if he can score an upset.

Not sure if AC Milan is making a good move, perhaps they should look at some rising stars and not outgoing stars such as Beckham, Ronaldo, and Ronaldinho. No get me wrong these players are still strong but perhaps a little passed their prime. But hey, they may be able to get AC Milan over the hurdle. Is this a move for Beckham to play in Europe again, perhaps proving he has not lost it. Perhaps opening up a way for him to retire in the English Premier League.

We are 14 days from the 2008 US Presidential Elections. The latest poll averages from Real Clear Politics has Barack Obama +6.0 over John McCain.
Bodoglife.com has opened the odds and lines for the election. Here are today’s odds, 14 days before the election:

Barack Obama -650
This is by far the largest gap in the lines, Barack Obama is the clear favorite at this point. Barack Obama announced today that he was taking a break from the campaign trail to spend time for his ailing grandmother. Im not saying he shouldnt but I dont think that will hurt him in the campaign. The wrath continues to question John McCain’s choice for Vice President.

I didnt realize that UFC 90 was this weekend October 25 2008 in Chicago, IL the main fight card puts Anderson “The Spider” Silve vs Patrick “The Predator” Cote. I have a feeling these fights will be better than last week’s since this weeks fights are pay per view and not on SpikeTV on tape delay. The Sports Affiliate went 2/3 in our predictions last week for UFC 89. Check back Thursday night for our breakdown, analysis, and predictions for the fights this weekend.

UFC 89 October 18 2008 Picks Odds Spreads and Predictions

Here is my analysis:
Paul Taylor (9-3-1) vs Chris Lytle (25-16-5)
Chris Lytle another one of those TUF, is coming off a loss to Josh Koscheck and is now facing a new comer Paul Taylor. I don’t know much about this Taylor fellow but he is good on his feet and not too shabby on the ground. Since he is fairly new to UFC he hasn’t fought any top notch fighters until now. The win should go to the well experienced Chris Lytle, his jujitsu skills are amazing along with his boxing skills. This fight will stay standing up lasting all three rounds.
Prediction: Chris Lytle
Keith Jardine +150 (13-4-1) vs Brandon Vera -180
Brandon Vera trains out in Silver Spring MD and Arlington VA, so he is a local favorite. He trains with Team Lloyd Irvin, the gym I use to train in so I cant pick against Vera. Vera has jumped back to natural weight class at 205lbs. This guy is “The Truth” he is well versed in ju-jitsu and an excellent kickboxer. His kicks are one of the hardest and toughest in MMA. He kicks like Tong Po from the movie Kickboxer. Keith Jardine has a very weak ground but he packs a mean punch. Vera will set the pace of the match by keeping the first round standing up and makes his move onto the ground in the later in the 2nd round. Vera will control the fight, take Jardine down for a submission in the second round.
Prediction: Brandon “The Truth” Vera second round submission
Main Event
Michael Bisping -240 (17-1) vs Chris Leben +190 (18-4)
Michael Bisping has gone back to true weight clas at 185. Bisping hasn’t fought any top notch fighters at 185 and with his only lost by decision to Rashad Evans. Bisping is a fast and careless fighter. His conditioning is very poor and does not know how to pace himself for fights. Leben on the other hand has great conditioning but cant block punches and kicks. He has a very thick skull and can take punches to the head. Leben cant only take punches but has an excellent ground game and a fairly decent boxing skills. Bisping will take this fight all the way winning by decision in his hometown of the U.K.
Prediction: Michael Bisping Unanimous Decision
