The Amazon Kindle Featured on Oprah

October 26, 2008

You can now get a $50 discount on the Amazon Kindle through the Oprah Winfrey show with the discount code of OPRAHWINFREY when you check out. I first reviewed the Kindle in August, it was probably considered a novelty. But my wife was watching Oprah on Friday and she was totally touting the Kindle. I think these things will sell like hotcakes and will probably a favorite around Christmas time. It is compact and can store an endless amount of data.

Here is the video of Oprah:

Check out the Kindle today ! Dont forget the $50 discount code - OPRAHWINFREY

What keeps me up on Monday nights

October 6, 2008

11:30 PM EST
I’ve got Drew Brees as my fantasy football QB. Currently Im down 17 points and Reggie Bush keeps returning kicks for TDs its 11:30 PM EST. I’ve been up since 5 AM. All I need is two TDs from Drew Brees which may happen.

11:45 PM EST
I also have OVER 46.5 in this game. The O/U is now 47. That is a relief. I wanted to take the Saints -3, but im glad I didnt. It would have been too stressful. I still need Brees to throw 2 more TDs and to get some passing yards. Im hoping the Vikings keep scoring and stop putting 8 men on the line to blitz Brees on every single play. Oh almost forgot I also have the Saints in my survivor pool. I should have kept my pick of the Bears over the Lions in that pool but I changed it at the last second. So no more scoring from the Vikings. I wish Gus Frerotte would just retire.

12:09 AM EST
Martin Gramatica just missed a FG that would have put the Saints ahead. Gus Frerotte leads the Vikings down the field and the Vikings kick a field goal with less than 12 seconds left. Im finished in my survivor pool. Didnt get the victory in my Fantasy Football League. But the OVER 46.5 won ! 1 out of 3 is not bad but not worth losing sleep over.

Till next time - Anyone else up late tonight stressing ?

MTV The Hills Salaries Revealed

August 25, 2008

Every wonder how lucrative a reality TV show can be or rather how much a reality TV star is paid ? Well here are the salaries for the cast of the Hills.

Lauren Conrad: $75,000 per episode
Heidi Montag: $65,000 per episode
Spencer Pratt: $65,000 per episode
Audrina Patridge: $35,000 per episode
Whitney Port: $20,000 per episode
Brody Jenner: $10,000 per episode
Lauren “Lo” Bosworth: $10,000 per episode
Stephanie Pratt: $8,000 per episode

Perhaps I should tell my kids to turn pro and skip college to become a reality TV star. What has the world come to ? If MTV can afford to pay these salaries then how much is the show making in a struggling economy. The enterainment business is NOT struggling. If I were MTV I would phase out Spencer Pratt, to reduce the salary burdens. Increase the story lines for Audrina Partridge. Give her a raise! I would definitely cut Lauren “Lo” Bostworth and introduce a couple of new characters to test the show. What happened to the old fashion days where a good 4-year degree would take you a long way. Whatever happended to being a doctor or a lawyer to make that kind of money. Now you will have kids aspiring to be reality TV show stars. I certainly dont think they are too overpaid. This is pure entertainment ladies and gentleman. To sacrifice your privacy you should probably deserve this kind of money.

Who would you kick off the hills(i.e. who is the most annoying) ?
