Shaquille O’Neal gets a restraining order
August 26, 2008
You would think that it would be the other way around where Shaq would have to issue a restaining order against but in this case an Atlanta woman named Alexis Miller has issued a restraining order against Shaq, according to Fulton County Superior Court.
From CBS4.com and according to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution:
23-year-old Alexis Miller, who is also a hip-hop artist known as Maryjane, claimed Shaq has stalked her, threatening her with bodily harm and made harassing phone calls in which he breathed heavily into the phone before hanging up, according to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.
Shaq keeps his life interesting I must say. Alexis Miller is no joke check out her Myspace Page. Not really safe for work.
She is also known in the hip hop world as MaryJane

Which NBA Player is most likely to say something offensive at the Olymics
August 8, 2008
Which NBA player do you think is most likely to say something stupid and or offensive during the olympics. Im pretty sure behind closed doors, these guys have been forewarned and put through etiquette training. But after that first loss if that happens, players will get mad and start to forget the etiquette training. So I pose this poll:

Raptors Sign Aussie Shaq Nathan Jawai
July 11, 2008
One think I hate is when people are labeled the second coming of a well established player. Like Harold Miner being “Baby Jordan”. Just because a person resembles and mimics a legendary player it doesnt mean they deserver to be mentioned in the same name as them.
The “Aussie Shaq” - averaged 17.7 points 9.6 rebounds in 30 games for Cairns Taipan in Queensland. Cairns Taipan does not even compare to the worst team in the NBA. He was drafted 41st in the NBA draft by the Indiana pacers and traded to the Toronto Raptors. He signed a two-year contract. Aussie Shaq you are no Shaquille Oneal. You are not even Jermaine O’Neil. Until have 5 solid years in the NBA, I will grant you a slight moniker and perhaps start comparing you to the Real Shaquille O’neal. I wonder if the Aussie Shaq has an arch nemesis like Aussie Kobe. I hope to see Aussie Shaq someday calling Aussie Kobe out.
Let me know what you think of Aussie Shaq, by leaving a comment. If he wins Rookie of the Year, I will hold a random drawing with all commentors and give away $50 via paypal to you at the end of next season. You must have a valid PayPal account to participate. There must be a minimum of 50 comments for me to hold the drawing.

Gilbert Arenas Agrees for $16 Million less
July 3, 2008
The Wizards Insider has reported that Gilbert Arenas of the Washington Wizards has agreed to a 6 year $111 Million contract. This will leave the Washington Wizards room to sign a key player for next year. It is still skeptical if this is a good move for the Wizards or not. The Wizards were impressive enough without Gilbert Arenas. When Agent Zero came back the team just didnt flow. To get Agent Zero back into the flow of things the off season will be key. They will need to jell and get their rhythm back again. Will Antawn Jamison and Caron Butlet be happy at second fiddle to Gilbert Arenas again on the court ? Will there be enough scoring for the Big 3 or will Gilbert just take all the shots again.

Euro 2008 Players and their countries
June 26, 2008
As I watch the Euro 2008, I hear the commentator mention that each player is so proud to play and represent their country. Soccer or Futbal, is perhaps one of the only team sports where high profile players are proud to represent their country. Whether it is the World Cup or UEFA European Cups, there are never shortages of high profile players.
This brings to me to remember back in 2002 the 2002 FIBA World Basketball Championships where several NBA players refuse or declined to play in the World Championships, resulting in a 6th place finish for the USA Basketball team. In 2004 the same situation occurred, where players declined to play in the 2004 Olympics. It had a good team which consisted of Carmelo Anthony and Lebron James, early in their careers. But they settled for the Bronze Medal that year.
I also recall Tiger Woods, complaining about participating in the President’s Cup and Ryder Cup. They are not really compensated for these competitions. Tiger, however has never declined to participate.
Even in Pro Bowls and All Star games, players often are “injured” to avoid playing. You cant compare these games to the World Cup or Olympics though, but is a what better way to represent your team.
The NBA season and Golf season are long and grueling, but not as grueling as the soccer season. The soccer season runs from August to May. In between, players travel the world to play for their countries in qualifiers and friendlies. From about June to July there is either a European championship or a World Cup to be played. These players never complain, they are more than happy to be representing their country. That leaves them only two months of off season. The likes of David Beckham are always wanting to get another CAP (a recogition of a player in each apperance in an international game for their country). The likes of David Bechkam, Christian Ronaldo, make as much money if not more than NBA and NFL players, would do anything to get another CAP. My point is the NBA and NFL players should take a better look at themselves, as soccer players set the standard for professional athletes in my opinion. No matter what the stakes are, soccer players are willing to do anything to play or represent their country.

2008 NBA Draft
June 25, 2008
Who will be the #1 draft in the 2008 NBA Draft ? The Chicago Bulls have the top pick. It will most likely be Derrick Rose. He is a Chicago native and is probably a stronger player than Michael Beasley. Beasley originally listed as 6′10″ is slowly shrinking to 6′8″.
NBA Draft.net has Rose as the #1 Pick.
InsideHoops.com has Rose as the #1 Pick
ESPN’s Chris Ford has Derrick Rose as the #1 Pick.
The Bulls continue to maintain that they haven’t made up their minds about who they’re drafting. But I’d be shocked, at this point, if it isn’t Rose. The team needs leadership, defense and a player who’s willing to put his team before himself — that guy is Rose. Beasley may score more and win more individual awards. But ultimately, I think the Bulls will be more comfortable with the belief that Rose can take the franchise where they want it to go.
Here are the latest odds for who will be the 2008 NBA Draft #1 pick from Sportsbook.com.
Derrick Rose (1-8)
Michael Beasley (4-1)
Brook Lopez (50-1)
Kevin Love (100-1)
OJ Mayo (50-1)
Field any other player (25-1)

Shaquille O’Neal attacks Kobe in freestyle rap
June 23, 2008
Shaquille O’Neal blames Kobe Bryant for ruining his marriage. Kobe during his rape case told police that “Should have done what Shaq does … Shaq would pay his women not to say anything.” That was almost 5 years ago, and Shaq is still bitter. I dont blame him. So recently at a New York City club, Shaquille O’Neal uses his words of wisdom to freestyle and attack Kobe. I love it when Shaq diesel raps. He like to just break it down. What’s up doc, can you rock ? Kazzam

Celtics win the NBA Championship
June 17, 2008
Once again the Celtics covered the 4.5 point spread. The Celtics won 131-92. Your best bet was to take the Celtics -4 or -4.5. Still not a bad payout. If you had the over you would have been a winner also.
That was the last time you will be able to bet on an NBA game for a while. The only other bet is who will be the number 1 pick Michael Beasley or Derrick Rose ?
Michael Beasley is +250
Derrick Rose is -400
Who will be the number one pick in the NBA draft ? Leave a comment.
